Following outrage from hundreds of community members and organisations as well as a critical report from Architectus, the developers are amending their plans for the GSV development to address the many points raised.
Amended plans will be re-advertised and further submissions called for before Architectus make another report. The Joint Regional Planning Panel (JRPP) will not be involved until this process is complete and, judging by the developer’s first attempt, the amended plans may not necessarily progress directly to the JRPP.
The story is not over yet. We will need to watch this space.
Have another look at Top Ryde shopping centre, it too is a combination of shops and residential buildings. It’s exhausting just getting from one shop to another over levels and spread out over a huge area, and not all that busy from what I can see. I don’t like the place . I prefer the village intimacy of Gladesville , by all means build another level of shops, but the residential area should be quite separate .
Top Ryde Shopping Centre’s bland interior is depressing, its difficult to navigate around. I never go there. Another bland oversized shopping centre is not needed in Gladesville.
