Council is running an information session on the planning proposal for the Gladesville Shopping Village site (land bounded by Massey Street, Cowell Street and Flagstaff Street). The proposal is to add two clauses to Hunters Hill Local Environmental Plan 2012:
- parameters regarding the location and type of open recreation space to be provided
- linking future development applications that seek additional height and floor space to design excellence provisions.

The entire plan is fraught with peril.
Back in 2010 the “expert professional planning staff” at HHC came up with the site specific DCP, which amongst other things removed ALL setbacks. In addition that recommended creating a loading dock entry on Cowell St near the corner of Flagstaff, with a sheer 15meter high concrete wall.
Two years later the same group of “professionals” passed the 2012 LEP increasing the height by 30% and increasing the density of the site.
All of this planning disaster was done by the same group that now encourages us to support issues of the current Planning Proposal.
They are not to be trusted.
