Hunters Hill Hotel wants to extend their trading hours till 4:00 a.m (HHH currently closes at midnight). Their DA asks for:
- Monday-Friday: 10:00 am – 4:00 am
- Saturday: 8:00 am – 4:00 am
- Sunday: 8:00 am – midnight
Clear evidence shows links between extended hours alcohol trading and increased alcohol related accidents, violence, property damage, anti-social behaviour.

On Sunday morning as I walk along Victoria Road to buy the paper I notice bottles , cans, food wrappers, broken glass and damaged bus shelters as a result of whooping youths leaving late closing pubs. The Hunters Hill hotel faces on to main roads and is in the midst of a quiet dwellings.We all know what happens outside late closing venues….dangerous brawling, drunks driving home…and let’s not forget NOISE.
Hopefully you agree with me that 4am license is only a bad thing for all of us, especially those with teenagers .
On a personal note , Peter’s car , along with 3 others , was smashed and probably written off at 2am this morning, parked in front of our house. A horrendous high speed accident, with fortunately no injuries.
The cause of this was a drunken youth attempting to commandeer a taxi that he had been a passenger in.
Please write a complaint letter to say NO !!

Why is it a good idea to have 4am trading in alcohol? It is patently obvious that we have a big problem with drunkenness in this city. To open the hotel until 4am will only exacerbate the problem. This is a quiet suburb and should remain that way. Please object to the council and tell all your friends and neighbours to do likewise.
I can’t believe this has even been proposed. Words just beggar belief…. who in their right mind would possible think this is a good idea?
My family and I object to any increase in trading hours for the Hotel Hunters Hill. The level of alcohol abuse causes far too many problems in our community already, and these problems are a direct result of the availability of alcohol. It would be courting disaster to increase the trading hours in this Hotel in our community. Please rethink this proposal. Yours sincerely . Louise young.
Why is the “Triple H” proposing this extension to their trading hours ? Surely, with the ever increasing violence, fuelled by alcohol and drugs, any responsible hotelier would NOT want to do this. Is the “Triple H” more interested in profit than people ? What about the residents who live nearby ? Any thought of them ?
Do the prospective buyers of the new apartments next door, know of this application ? Any thought of them ?
