Walk through Gladesville Hospital

Clock Tower (original grain store), Image 1973

Len Dowsett will lead this year’s walk through the historic Gladesville Hospital site.  Gladesville Hospital, originally known as Tarban Creek Lunatic Asylum, was designed by the Colonial Architect, Mortimer Lewis.  The first patients arrived from Liverpool Asylum and the Female Factory at Parramatta in 1838. The site contains many buildings that are listed on the Register of the National Estate.

When:  9:30-11:30, Sunday 28th May

Bookings: members@huntershilltrust.org.au.

NOTE:  We will be walking through some bushland areas.  The track will be steep and uneven in places and only suitable for the more intrepid walker with stout shoes and stoic attitude.

Walks are intended for Trust members and their friends and family.  New members are welcome.
